Re-capping 2012 and looking forward to 2013

Hmmm, where to begin my reflections of 2012…Generally speaking I would venture to say it was a pretty low, key and relaxing year. My New Years resolution is more or less always the same: be a more loving, compassionate person, follow my guidance and create inner peace, find balance and go with the flow. This year I decided that since it was the year of the great shift I would spend less time working on others and more time enjoying life and bringing more balance into my life.

Balance is a funny thing, take the symbolism of the scales, the slightest weight (say a feather) added or removed on either side completely shifts the whole.

Balance

noun

  1. a state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount, etc.
  2. something used to produce equilibrium; counterpoise.
  3. mental steadiness or emotional stability; habit of calm behavior, judgment, etc.
  4. a state of bodily equilibrium: He lost his balance and fell down the stairs.
  5. an instrument for determining weight, typically by the equilibrium of a bar with a fulcrum at the center, from each end of which is suspended a scale or pan, one holding an object of known weight, and the other holding the object to be weighed.

As a Libra rising with a Libra moon, balance has become an obsession for me at times. Several years ago I came to a bizarre understanding;  finding balance meant considering and being conscious of imbalance first. I think that tipping the scales in the extreme opposites for so many years had allowed me to finally find the balance point and a state of equilibrium. After all that seeking, finding and integrating I have come to realize that although balance is a much sought after state, it is the highs and lows in life that are the real memory makers.

That being said, I tipped the scales toward relaxation, I spent more time in nature and at the beach, read more, started painting again, meditated more, and connected with others more. I guess you could say it was balanced relaxation, this was clearly reflected in the bottom line of my business when the bookkeeper paid me a visit last month, yikes!

So, the biggest highlights of 2012 was the travel.

  • A trip to Costa Rica in March/April that was relaxing, healing and a wonderful spiritual retreat http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2012/05/07/personal-healing-retreat
  • A short trip to the sunshine coast, Sechelt allowed me to re-connect with previous clients and students while I had an opportunity to facilitate a Holographic Healing workshop. I stayed with a friend I hadn’t connected with for 5 years, it was so nice to spend some time with her and re-connect. http://www.soulalchemyhealing.com/the-melchizedek-method.html
  • I went to the Island, Parksville to help out a dear friend and her husband. It was an intense visit. I mostly worked, I was able to see 9 clients there and did 4 sessions on her husband Richard who had a seizure last year and has completely lost his memory, I mean everything! He didn’t even remember her. And so yet another walk-in has arrived to the earth plane! I pray for his speedy integration.
  • I went to Edmonton in August and re-united with family I hadn’t seen in over 35 years, re-connected with dear friends and had an absolute blast. My beautiful cousin Juanita is an absolute joy to hang with! I soooo wish we lived closer to each other. I had the pleasure of teaching a mini holographic healing workshop there and we did some feng shui in her home. I was able to lend a hand to Deborah an absolutely amazing woman and dear, dear friend while I was there too. OMG, so many things happened in that week it makes my head spin! Everything from yoga, being rescued by a dreamy firefighter, to Drag Queen charity events…wow! I did some serious scale tipping here.
  • Then there was the 10 day silent retreat in Merritt, BC which has definitely changed my life…forever  http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/10-days-of-silence
  • Then there was the visit here from my gorgeous sister and wonderful mother. Karen and I laughed so hard in the canoe I thought I would pee my pants. I tried to get out on a sandbar and fell in! Watching Karen made me realize how similar I was at her age and how much my values have changed. I am grateful that she decided to come for a visit even though some of our expectations were not met. In the weeks that followed we texted our frustrations and irritations to one another and when it was all over we managed to get back to LOVE. Mom and I started spray it away and mom lost 33lbs in less than 2 months. I lost 15 even with my slip ups :-) All in all it was a great visit.

Let’s see…the other BIG thing that happened in 2012 was that I was registered with vital statistics to legally perform weddings, this was a huge breakthrough for me, and so exciting. http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/its-official-im-official

It was a privilege to marry these two seniors in our home.

Wedding at our home

I took time out to read, and to read something that wasn’t work related. When I say work related I mean anything spiritual. Yep, I read “The fifty shades of grey” series. Entertaining and maybe a little educational…wink, wink!

books

I made it a point to start painting again, and finally managed to bond with acrylic…YES! Here are a couple photos to show you my progress. I decided to create a gallery page on my blog as well. Here is a page with some of my art and the process I went through http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/painting-gallery and here is the blog from when I first started painting: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/11/02/when-all-hell-breaks-loose-paint

I tried something new this year…a piercing. It was an experience I was going to blog about and chose not to. Why, you ask. Well it’s a little personal and I realized that I would take up an entire blog just venting and raging about an experience that still leaves me frustrated and incomplete. Kelly, the owner should thank Vipassana Meditation, not writing the blog has likely saved West Coast Piercing big money.

The bottom line is that I had a botched piercing done by the manager, who has 5 years experience. After 3 visits I contacted the owner, then after some 18 emails, 2 more visits and a re-piercing I am still not satisfied, not to mention that it has cost me 3 times the average price for this type of piercing. If anyone needs some jewellery, I have lots now…

Hmmmm, what else…I began working on my thesis for my Masters in Metaphysics, not so much writing it but doing lots of research. I am hoping to finish it this year…still undecided about the subject. I am considering paradigm shifts, meditation or something about the programming of the unconscious mind. I’m open to any ideas anyone out there may have.

Oh, I nearly forgot, we finally got our hallway, dining room and living room painted this year. It was a nightmare. The previous owners slapped paint on and got it all over the wooden trim. We spent hours upon hours cleaning it off with mild nail polish remover before we could actually paint. All the wooden trim, windows and vaulted ceilings made the process long and strenuous and it looks beautiful now that it is complete.

Oh, one more thing, I learned how to create my own websites. It is so rewarding being able to go onto my site and change things when I want to. I made three new sites and updated the look of my blog. The sites are:

This encouraged me to register my new company: New Perspectives Ministry

So what lies ahead for 2013? Well I have been thinking about that, quite a bit. This is the first year in 12 that I did not do a collage on January 1st. In fact I have decided to take the four that I have up down. I am in detachment mode I suppose. My visions/goals seem to be the same from year to year:

  • Inner Peace
  • The world a loving place
  • Abundance for all
  • Great Health
  • Happy and Healthy Relationships
  • Comfortable Home
  • Excellent Divine Guidance
  • Personal Growth

I am fortunate that for the most part I have all these things. I guess the difference is wanting vs needing. Do I desire a bigger home, more money and a more loving planet…Hell Yes. Am I grateful for the love, abundance, comfort and peace in my life now…Hell Yes! So my focus remains the same; be a more loving, compassionate person, always follow my guidance, create inner peace, find balance and go with the flow, and above all find equanimity in all things.

My dear friends, clients, fellow bloggers and readers; with all my heart, I wish you more magic and miracles than you could imagine would come your way in order for you all to create the reality you desire in 2013…Happy New Year.

May Blessing Abound in your Life Today and Always,

Ugh…not a Candida Cleanse

Hi Everyone…I must be insane,  I finally decided to crack down and do a Candida cleanse. Over the years, I’ve spoken with hundreds, of men and women describing the following symptoms:

  • Acid reflux
  • Bloating
  • Blood Sugar Imbalances
  • Brain Fog
  • Chronic poor digestion
  • Cravings for Alcohol
  • Cravings for Sugar or Bread
  • Depression
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Food allergies
  • Hormone Imbalances
  • Intestinal Disturbances
  • Lack of energy
  • Menstrual Difficulties
  • Mood Swings
  • Oral Thrush
  • Painful Joints
  • Poor skin conditions
  • Poor Concentration
  • Post Nasal Drip
  • Sensitivity to Chemicals
  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Vaginal Discharge
  • Weight Gain
  • Weight Loss

Looking at the list I have determined that I have several of these symptoms, so how do I know it is Candida. These symptoms can be the cause of many things, like aluminum poisoning, inoculation residue and even the HPV or Epstein Barr viruses!

Well since I have detoxed several metals, parasites, viruses and other pathogens, I assume the only thing left that my symptoms relate to is Candida. I went in search of more info and found an online quiz and a home test.

Candida Questionaire

How To Tell If You Have Candida  -  The Free and Accurate Candida Spit Test.

THE TEST: In the evening, put a clear glass of water by your bed. First thing in the morning, briefly rinse your mouth, swallow, then gather some saliva in your mouth and spit into the glass of water (be sure to spit out saliva, not mucus). Keep an eye on the water for half an hour — especially the first few minutes. If you have candida overgrowth, you will see one or more of the following:

1. Strings (legs) hanging down from the saliva.
2. Heavy-looking saliva at the bottom of the glass.
3. Cloudy specks suspended in the water.

If, within three minutes after spitting into the water, you see “strings” hanging down, cloudy specks showing up in the water, or “debris” sinking to the bottom, you most likely have extensive overgrowth. If it takes longer than a few minutes for anything to show up, the candida is not as serious. If the saliva just floats on top and the water stays perfectly clear, you most likely don’t have candida overgrowth.

Here is a short youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NavoSAeyMuc

Candida concentrates in saliva overnight, so this test is most accurate first thing in the morning.

About 80% of the time, candida overgrowth occurs when antibiotics kill the friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract. Divided up about equally, are cases of candida overgrowth caused by candida spores being breathed in, transmitted orally through food sharing, kissing, or similar activities, and as babies picking it up from their mothers. Overgrowth cannot occur when the immune system is strong and the friendly flora (said to comprise 70% of the immune system response) are plentiful.

Unfortunately, the environment in which Candida thrive means that the pH balance is acidic. This acidity inhibits the bodies’ ability to absorb vitamins and minerals, and it limits enzyme production of digestive proteins. One of the side effects of limited enzymes leads to indigestion symptoms, wind or gas, a sense of the intestines being bloated or swollen, increased acid levels and sensitivities to certain types of food.

I chose to use the Inno-Vite Candida Cleanse. It is fairly simple, just take one concoction in the am and then probiotics before bed. I have added black walnut tincture and Pau D’Arco to my daily regiment as well.

This real issue is the change in diet. As you can tell by the list below, it can be a challenge for most people. I have to admit it isn’t too bad for me since I rarely eat wheat, dairy, sugar (although I started craving chocolate). My cravings are fruits, which add to sugar and wine…same as pure sugar me thinks. I eat yogurt or Kifer daily for the probiotics so that has been a change for me.

Here is a list of foods to avoid on a Candida cleanse:

Sugar

Refined sugar is thought to encourage the growth of Candida yeast.

Foods containing refined sugar include: white sugar, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, corn syrup, maple sugar, molasses, date sugar, turbinado, raw sugar, demerrara, amasake, rice syrup, sorghum.

Read labels carefully because there may be hidden forms of sugar. When reading the label, words to watch out for include: sucrose, fructose, maltose, lactose, glycogen, glucose, mannitol, sorbitol, galactose, monosaccharides, polysaccharides.

Fruit

Fruit contain natural sugars that are thought to support the growth of yeast. Fruit that are typically eliminated include fresh, frozen, canned, and dried fruit and juice.

Yeast

Foods that contain yeast are typically eliminated. Yeast-containing foods include: Baker’s yeast, Brewer’s yeast, Engevita, Torula, and any other types of nutritional yeast.

Baked goods raised with yeast such as breads, rolls, crackers, bagels, pastries, and muffins are not permitted.

Foods Containing Gluten

Gluten-containing foods include wheat, barley, and rye. This includes products made with these ingredients such as bread and pasta.

Vinegar

Includes all types of vinegar, such as white vinegar, red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar, and balsamic vinegar, and any food made with vinegage, such as mayonnaise, commercial salad dressing, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, BBQ sauce, shrimp sauce, soy sauce, mustard, pickles, pickled vegetables, green olives, relishes, horseradish, mincemeat, and chili sauce.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms are typically not allowed on Candida diets.

Peanuts, Peanut Butter, and Pistachios

Peanuts, peanut butter, and pistachios are thought to have mold contamination, which is why they typically aren’t allowed on candida diets.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages are believed to encourage the growth of yeast. All forms of alcohol are typically eliminated, such as red wine, white wine, beer, whiskey, brandy, gin, scotch, any fermented liquor, vodka, rum, and all liqueurs.

Coffee, Black Tea, Cider, Root beer

Includes regular coffee, instant coffee, decaffeinated coffee, and all types of black tea (including “fruit flavored” black tea).

Cider, root beer, and other fermented beverages are also typically eliminated.

Aged, Moldy and Processed Cheeses

Roquefort and other aged, moldy or blue cheeses are not allowed on a typical Candida diet. Also eliminated are processed cheese such as cheese slices, Velveeta, Cheese Whiz, cream cheese, cheese snacks, and Kraft dinner.

Processed, Dried, Smoked, and Pickled Meats

These foods include smoked salmon, pickled herring, sausages, bacon, hot dogs, pastrami, bologna, sandwich meats, salami, corned beef, pickled tongue, and kolbassa.

Packaged, Processed, and Refined Foods

Canned, bottled, packaged, boxed, and other processed foods containing yeast, refined sugar, refined flour, chemicals, preservatives, or food coloring.

My Experience

As you can see the list of avoid items is extensive. It is best to consider what you will eat and prepare a few things before beginning in case the detox puts you into a healing crisis.

The first three days I experienced low energy, bloating, headaches and I was cranky. I am at the end of week one and although I haven’t dropped any weight I have noticed that my skin is better and so is my digestion and my mood swings have definitely improved. Not bad for the first week.

I am beginning to notice a cravings for alcohol, I’m not sure if it’s because of summer and being at the beach or the Candida causing the cravings, hmmmmm.

In my attempt to find a healthy snack that fills the gab when hungry and busy or those darn sweet cravings I have tried a couple of things I thought I’d share with you. The first are raw crackers, fairly easy to make but you need a dehydrator. Below are some pictures and the recipes.

Spicy Crackers

  • 1 cup soaked sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup soaked walnuts
  • 1 cup soaked almonds
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 cup red onion (chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons flaxseed
  • 3 teaspoons cumin seed
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Mix in food processor. Spread on parchment paper or TefIon sheets. Make them very thin.

Then using a pizza cutter, cut in squares. They will be easier to break into pieces when dry.

Dehydration time is about 15 to 20 hours.

Basic raw cracker recipe inspired by Ani Phyo’s recipes

  • 2 cups ground flax seeds
  • 2/3 cup whole flax seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper (chopped very small)
  • 2 tablespoons parsley (chopped very small)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian spices (or your favourite savoury spice)
  • 2 and 2/3 cups of water
  • 1 and 1/3 cups of sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup black sesame seeds (or regular white sesame seeds will do fine)

Directions

1. Mix everything together in a mixing bowl.

2. Spread batter on parchment paper or a teflex sheet. FYI: Do not use regular waxed paper. The crackers will stick to the paper and be difficult to remove. Buy parchment paper or teflex sheets.

Remember that the above recipe should make two dehydrator sheets worth of crackers. Spread the batter out evenly. Using the back of a spoon works well.

3. Start dehydrating the crackers. I generally dehydrate everything at 120 degrees for the first hour, then I reduce the temperature to 105 degrees for the remainder of the cooking time.

4. Score the crackers. Once the crackers are starting to harden up (four hours later?), use a knife to score the crackers along wherever you want the crackers to separate. This will make them easier to break later on.

5. Remove paper or teflex. Once the crackers are holding their shape together very well (8 hours in the dehydrator?), break them apart along the score lines. Remove the parchment or teflex sheets and place the crackers directly on the dehydrator tray.

6. Finish dehydrating. Some people like their crackers a bit moist. I like them to be very dry. If you plan on keeping them for a few weeks or more in storage, then you must ensure that there is no moisture left.

A good way to make sure that they are really dry and dehydrated is to pinch them hard. If all of the moisture is gone, you should not be able to feel any movement. If you pinch a cracker and it gives a little, it needs to be dehydrated longer.

I dehydrate my crackers for a long time. Perhaps even 20 hours or so! That might be overkill, but it’s what I do.

7. Eat and enjoy! I love avocado, sprouts, and tomato on raw crackers. Mmm!

I enjoy left over grilled salmon on them or bean dip goes well with them too. They are got delicious and are a nice compliment to any meal or snack.

For my sweet tooth I made some organic spelt flour and oat muffins with unsweetened carob chips and xylitol  as a sweetener, they are fantastic!

Spelt Muffins

WET

  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1/3 cup of safflower oil
  • 2eggs
  • 1/2 cup of shredded: carrot and/or zucchini (if not on cleanse apple is yummy)
  • I add spices, you choose,  what you like, mine are cinnamon, nutmeg and clove; 1 tbs of each.

DRY

  • 1/2 cup nuts (walnuts, almonds)
  • 1 1/2 cup spelt flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons of xylitol (if not on a Candida cleanse you can 1/4 cup brown sugar)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened carob chips (if not on a Candida cleanse you can use raisins)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat wet ingredients together in a bowl. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Mix the two together. Put in lined muffin tins and bake for 25 minutes.

These muffins are great for breakfast, I cut one in half and use as a dessert in the evening.

The Inno-Vite kit comes with a booklet that has a Candida quiz in it as well as several awesome recipes, you can get the pdf and download it here: Inno-Vite

Protein Shake

The other thing I have been making that is fast and easy and fills the void are shakes. So what is in a smoothie that can’t have fruit or sugar because of a Candida cleanse, you ask…spinach, parsley, cilantro, ginger, cinnamon, pinch of cayenne, celery, chia seeds, almond milk, rice powder, xylitol and coconut oil.

One other thing that I should mention that is great is making unique iced teas. A tall glass of iced tea on a hot day is refreshing, and it might also do your body good. Studies show if you drink tea regularly, you may reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s and diabetes, plus have healthier teeth and gums and stronger bones. How? Tea is rich in a class of antioxidants called flavonoids, which are most potent when tea is freshly brewed. If you want to keep a batch of cold tea in your refrigerator, add a little lemon juice. The citric acid and vitamin C in that squeeze of lemon—or lime, or orange—help preserve the flavonoids. These iced tea recipes are a delicious way to enjoy this beneficial beverage.

I try combo like white tea with cinnamon sticks or white tea with ginger and mint. I just make it really strong and then add it to 1.5 liters of filtered water and keep it in the refrigerator. For those of you who would like any of these sweetened simply use stevia or xylitol.

Hibiscus-Pomegranate Iced Tea

This herbal iced tea blends sour, berry-flavored hibiscus tea with sweet pomegranate juice.

Green Jasmine-Mint Iced Tea with Lemon

Here we balance the mildly grassy flavor and slightly astringent mouthful of green tea with honey and lemon. Over steeped green tea can be bitter, so don’t brew it any longer than 3 minutes. And be sure to steep in simmering water: water that looks like it’s steaming, with little bubbles, but not boiling.

So what are the top Candida fighting foods you ask?

  • Coconut Oil
  • Garlic
  • Seaweed
  • Almnds
  • Ginger
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Juice
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Cayenne Pepper

Use them often and wherever you can!
I hope this blog has given you some ideas of food choices and recipes should you find yourself in need of the dreaded Candida Cleanse…perhaps the fall when fruit isn’t so plentiful is a better time to embark on this one!

Creating Peace and Calm in a World of Chaos

Many people, often begin to plan their day once their head has cleared out from the bleariness of the previous night’s sleep and they’ve had a cup of coffee or tea. It may seem that after we calculate what needs to be done: get up, eat, shower, make sure not to forget any of the 20 things we may need for the day such as my cell phone, keys, food, reading glasses, etc, squeeze in a yoga class, walk or exercise, do our social media stint, go grocery shopping, stand in the bank line-ups, come home, cook dinner, clean a bit, push through any family issues that need to be addressed, try to connect with our beloved, talk to a friends, do the laundry, then voila, it’s time for bed. Oops, was I supposed to connect with the part of me that is Peace/Love/God and meditate? It’s too late now, I’m tired, gotta get up early tomorrow and start the chaos all over again!

It’s no wonder that there are times when the sound of windshield wipers drive us mad, or not being able to simply take the lid off a jar sparks and emotional response or why we want to rip the head off the crazy driver in front of us. If you have found yourself more and more impatient and frustrated with the little things in your daily routine. If you are suddenly snapping at your loved ones and you feel like you are on the edge of losing it, you may want to consider changing your routine and creating a little space for yourself to return to calm, peacefulness.

Even through our busyness we seem to find time for extended coffee breaks, pointless internet surfing, gossip, complaining to friends about having no time, watching TV, and just creating more unnecessary busyness and distractions that take us away from our oneness.
The path to inner peace is not simple or short. We cannot just wake up one day and decide we are going to have inner peace. It is a process, an inner journey that needs to be appreciated. It does however, start with the choice to have this thing called “Inner Peace.”

Like all new things and choices, we need to be ready to step outside the box we have allowed ourselves to be put in. How do we begin initiating change within ourselves? How do we start these so called transformations, paradigm shifts or evolutions of the mind, spirit and soul?

Believe it or not…taking time to meditate may actually give you more time, and space, in your busy life.

Start with the Breath, we sometimes find ourselves so busy that we are hardly breathing. We have become a society of shallow breathers. Here is an easy breathing exercise to start with that will only take you 10 minutes. Less time than it takes to drink a cup of coffee.

The 12 Breaths to Nirvana

Sit very still and be very quiet for 12 slow deep breaths.
1. Focus on each breath and count each exhalation. If you lose your stream of concentration anytime before reaching twelve then start over with one.
2. After you reach 12 breaths consciously, allow yourself to rest into the silent peaceful stillness.
3. Allow for whatever your experience is to rise and fall away and practice letting everything be exactly as it is.

Try a Mantra

The word AUM is used in deeper practices of meditation as a sound vibration and invocation to open higher consciousness. This technique is used by mystics to maximize its effect.
Breath work:
1. Breathe in with a slightly open mouth letting the “A” be formed by the sound of your inhaling breathe.
2. The first half of your exhalation breath forms the “U” sound with your mouth slightly open.
3. The second half of your exhalation should be done with your mouth closed, letting the breath that is passing through your nostrils form the “M” sound.

Breathing in this way at least 7 times will make your mind sensitive to higher consciousness.

What does AUM mean?
What does AUM sound like?

Try Meditation

Meditation is not just for those who can set aside hours a day or weeks each year for retreat. A short, powerful meditation can be incorporated into your busy life—to find relaxation, calm, and greater productivity. Remember, you can do this in the time it would normally take to drink a tea or coffee or make your lunch.

Here are some general guidelines to get you started.

1. Different postures affect how the energy flows through the body and how alert the mind is in meditation. For most meditations, we suggest sitting upright with the spine erect while still being comfortable. It is not necessary to get into a precise or difficult posture to meditate! If you are uncomfortable or straining to be in a certain position, you will not be able to relax completely.
2. Usually 10-20 minutes is a good meditation time, although if you are new to meditation, you may want to start with 5 minutes and build up from there.
3. Although you can meditate at any time, the ideal times are usually in the morning as a start to your day, or in the late afternoon in order to unwind from the activity of the day and be refreshed for the evening. Meditations which are deeply relaxing are best done on an empty stomach or at least a couple of hours after a meal.
4. A regular routine of meditation is invaluable. Generally speaking, once or twice a day is ideal. The benefits derived from meditation begins to carry over into our daily activities when we meditate regularly. Everything in life is about balance and proportion.
5. Creating your peaceful atmosphere. It isn’t required that you have any, yoga mats or cushions for meditation, you may simply sit on a dining chair or easy chair. Many people like to have the small running water fountains as the sound of running water is very soothing; lighting the room with a few candles is also an effective way of ‘setting the mood’ for your meditation time.
6. Now just begin to breathe mindfully. That means noticing your breath. It’s much like watching waves on water. Let it be how it wants to be. As you notice your breath now, it may be shallow, uneven or jerky. It’s OK however it is. You’re just observing it with attention and affection — every inhale and exhale. If your mind begins to wonder, go back to focusing on your breath.

If you simply cannot do these things on your own and you feel as though even 10 minutes is too much, begin with watching a youtube video and just following along with it.

Here are a few easy ones to begin with:

Guided 10 min Awareness of breathing meditation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZIBzKNsmzY
Worry Less in 10 Minutes – Guided Meditation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKtuBGYjG7U&feature=related

There are hundreds on youtube to choose from, you only need to choose one to begin!

These are just a few tips to get you going, the main thing is to commit to yourself that you are going to turn chaos into inner peace, and begin it, begin it NOW!

You likely have heard these wise words by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Germany’s “Shakespeare, so I would like to remind you of them again…

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

May Blessing of Inner Peace and Calm abound in your Life,

Rev. Carol Lefevre

Personal Healing Retreat

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…We need silence to be able to touch souls.“  ~Mother Teresa ~

I recently had an opportunity to escape for tres semanas increíbles (three incredible weeks) to a hot, sunny, beautiful space in Atenas, Costa Rica that allowed be to do a personal retreat. Atenas is slightly NW of San Jose. Have you ever wondered what you would do if you had nothing to do? Imagine being surrounded by beauty and healing energy 24/7. Waking up daily to just nurture yourself that’s right I said it…yourself, you and only you! Imagine having the time to heal the past so it can be cleared and released forever.

It was como un regalo (such a gift), to receive an amazing place to stay with a beautiful yard and view, an airline ticket, and  the company of a woman who is as dedicated to her personal journey as I am. I have known Ann Metcalfe for approximately 5 years now, she is a client, student and friend. In that time I have watched her blossom, grow and develop on so many levels. She is dedicated to her spiritual journey, assisting others and committed to healing Gaia, what’s not to love! I will always be grateful to her and her husband Howie for the amazing opportunity to do a personal retreat.

So what is a personal healing retreat anyhow? The true meaning of “retreat” is to turn inward. To retreat is to go into a space that allows us to deeply realize the truth of our being and to experience the essence of existence. This personal retreat offered me that one thing I so desperately needed…time! Time to step back from the course of daily life and enter into the unknown, in a new environment that provided both the structure and support to do so. Time to release old patterns of thinking inherited from my family and environment, time to releasing old habits of self abusive thinking, anxiety, overwhelm, destructive relationships, and ending other issues or behaviors that no longer served me.

We live in a world created by a divided mind, which perceives separation and thus operates with fear-based, repetitive thoughts, always planning and seeking some future imaginary peace.  I have often wondered, “do we ever find it?”

Not usually, instead what we usually find is the accumulated stress caused by constantly chasing after something, and a sense that something is always missing. In order to find relief and healing of stress, we need to stop all worldly activities, step back, retreat and just simply be. The experience I shared with Ann in Costa Rica allowed me to empoderar a mí mismo (empower myself), reclaim my lost energy from so many lifetimes, and most importantly be in ONENESS will all that is. It was a nurturing and healing experience that I will always be grateful for. Pulling back from our everyday world allowed us, through meditation,  prayers and energy work, to turned our attention back to what really matters, our True-Self, our God-Self.

It usually takes a serious life challenge, such as a midlife crisis, the loss of a loved one, divorce, break-up, serious illness to realize the need to search for personal spiritual retreat. Fortunately for Ann and I this was not the case. We chose to change, shift and grow within ourselves simply for the pleasure of doing so, to reconnect with our authentic values and fall deep into universal consciousness.

I couldn’t figure out how to embed the video directly so go to this link to see Ann and Howie’s home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coW9LJU3wV0&feature=youtu.be

In Costa Rica our healing journey/retreat was focused on our specific needs and included so many wonderful aspects, check out this list of things we did, and over 3/4 of them on a daily basis:

  1. Sun Gazing: a practice of gazing at the sun for nourishment, as a spiritual practice at sunrise or sunset
  2. Doing Mantras: a mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of creating transformation
  3. Morning walks
  4. Tuning into the Mayan calendar
  5. Homemade, fresh tropical fruit drinks
  6. Laying in the pool, just looking up at the sky
  7. Reiki: a technique commonly called palm healing or hands on healing
  8. Crystal Healing: placing crystals on different parts of the body, often corresponding to chakras, or places crystals around the body in an attempt to construct an “energy grid”, which is purported to surround the client with healing energy
  9. Picking your own fruit off the trees
  10. Studied and spoke Spanish
  11. Celebrated Ann’s creation of her balancing boxes with a Gaia Ceremony
  12. Mental, emotional and spiritual clearing work in the pool
  13. Staying open, flexible and going with the flow
  14. Meditation & breathing
  15. Setting up Crystal Grids and Spiritual Vortexes: Grids are a number of crystals arranged into a particular geometric form creating a particular energy field
  16. Massage treatments
  17. Meeting and sharing with the local peoples
  18. Sun bathing
  19. Full Moon Ritual
  20. Holographic Healing: a multidimensional healing which accesses the original thought form and clears a person’s body, mind, emotions, energy bodies, chakras and meridians
  21. Kundalini and Hatha Yoga
  22. Shopping at the farmers market on Fridays
  23. Holding the space for others to heal and clear
  24. Emotional Clearing: tracing conditional behavior patterns back to their source by connecting with your unconscious mind and then eliminating them
  25. Journaling
  26. Channelling important information
  27. Painting with water colours
  28. Recapitulation: a technique that enables an individual to repair damage and energy drain that comes from soul loss or soul fragmentation
  29. Star gazing and connecting to ETs

Cada día era un poco diferente (each day was a little different) but for the most part, all days were spirit directed and our key focus was on ourselves. There were some days when I only spent time with Ann during meals or on our walk. Our walks even contained elements of shifting our being. For instance we would challenge ourselves by setting an intention before going for a walk and hold that thought while walking, often repeating an affirmation over and over. Here is an example: “The God power in me is greater than any power or force causing me mind chatter.  I yield to the God power within. The God power within me brings me peace of mind, joy and love. I am grateful to the God power within for Self-Mastery.” Another time we would focus on breath, “I breathe out negativity…I breathe in a positive new future.”

Ann spent a couple of days working on her property and Mario’s, her friend’s vacation property next door (this was the pool we had access too, thanks Mario!). It was fantastic seeing Ann dowse the energy grids, ley lines and do testing for harmful geopathic zones and fields of negative energy which are electromagnetic in nature that flow within the Earth’s crust. I wish I would have gotten a photo. Seeing her with a big hat, draped cloth around her shoulders, wearing a sarong and holding her notepad and pendulum helped me recall her as an indigenous shamanic healer, Peruvian is my feeling, in a past life. This is Ann’s website if you are interested in more about the incredible work she does with Gaia: http://www.soilclearing.com/index.html

I could go on and on about our trip and get into some of the details of what we did, instead I thought I’d give you an example of a typical day and post some photos. Un día típico cuando algo como esto (A typical day when something like this):

  • 5:30am, wake up and go through my gratitude list while sun gazing, the sun was just beginning to come up
  • 5:45am, read Mayan calendar for the day and tune into the energy
  • 6:00am make a coffee and go back outside to do some chanting or mantras
  • 6:30am, activate Merkabah and do a short meditation
  • 7:00am, make a fruit drink, wash up and get ready for a walk or yoga
  • 7:30am, yoga or a walk or both with Ann
  • 9:00am, make a smoothie for breakfast and have breaky with Ann
  • 9:30-11:00AM, study Spanish either alone or with Ann
  • 11:00am-1:00pm, recapitulation, at poolside (Ann and Howie’s friend next door)
  • 1:00pm-2:30pm, connect with Ann, pick some fresh fruit, make and eat lunch
  • 2:30pm-4:30pm, clearing work, or hanging out with God and all that is, being One
  • 4:30-5:30pm, reconnect with Ann, chat and figure out dinner
  • 6:00-7:00pm, eat dinner
  • 7:00pm-8:30pm, read, check emails, skype, journal, study Spanish, settle in
  • 8:30-9:30pm, sit out and star gaze with Ann
  • 9:30pm, usually wake up outside and come to bed
  • Before sleep, send Reiki healing to clients, friends, stacking lists, Ann, home, Gaia and guides
  • Often wake up in the middle of the night and either do clearing, prayers or channel info from spirit

Of course there were days when we chatted with the locals when we were on our walks, that was our Spanish lesson for the day. We found a little church that we stopped into during our walks and did prayers, sent healing and did meditations. Fridays we went to town on the bus to the Farmers Market, loaded up on produce and fish then took the noon bus home, again a good opportunity to practice our Spanish.

Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure:

This is Ann and I doing a crystal healing and reiki treatment on a new friend:

This is the Farmers Market

This is a couple of local birds

This is a bug that makes and incredible sound as it calls for the rain, you will hear it in the background on the video

This is what our view was like when we went for walks

Ann and I met some lovely people and made some new friends. Being flexible and adaptable to what spirit put in front of us allowed those connections to come to fruition. We assisted others in unique ways that we may never totally understand, embraced community and left with full hearts.

There is nothing outside of ourselves that is going to bring joy unless we first become that joy from the inside. If you want to change your reality? Cambiar a ti mismo (Change yourself). An individual spiritual retreat may help you to rediscover an important place within, a true You.  You may become an individual, undivided by the mind, becoming One with a diverse world, and when you come home, you will bring this change with you, showing others a way to come back home to themselves, helping to change the world in your own special way.

Que todos ustedes encontrar el tiempo y el espacio para crear su retiro personal…May you all find the time and space to create your own personal retreat,

Rev. Carol Lefevre

New Perspectives on…everything? Our community circle experience.

I recently became a Minister, a Minister without my own chapel…so I thought to myself, “How can I give back to others and my community in a unique way?” What seemed like a small thought soon turned into a decision to form a new company called New Perspectives http://www.newperspectivesministry.ca  New Perspectives is a way of seeing the world and people around us in a new light…one that is kinder, realistic, and much more open. Since my intent is to bring new perspectives in the thinking, actions, feeling and spiritual lives of others, the name really fits for me.

That being said, I decided that I wanted to create the feeling of community and inclusiveness, not only for others, but for myself. Years ago I co-created a community circle that went from 5 people to over 60! It was a beautiful experience that I still reflect on today. I recognize that being open and vulnerable to others about how we feel about ourselves and life can be powerfully healing. To go beyond hearing, and to really listen to the voices and spirits of others is a precious gift that produces sisterly/brotherly love and a unique bond.

The beginning of a new moon cycle and the first of 2012, was the perfect time to begin and have our opening circle. So, what is the purpose of the New Perspectives Community Circle? The purpose of community circles is to bring people together to share their values, wisdoms, culture, talents and gifts. This idea is based on the foundation that we need all our lives to be filled with happiness, meaning, purpose, creativity, money, energy, friendship, relationship and more.

Traditionally, people gather in circles when they come together to eat, share and to create. The shape of a circle helps to improve communication, and sitting in a simple circle brings people together in a meaningful, empowering, healing, and creative way. It allows us to experience belonging and contribute to relationship building.

When we meet in a circle with the intention to truly listen to one another, we begin to experience the power and support that cultivates from the circle. When we sit together in a circle we create a safe space for each person to be themselves, to learn, and to grow. The circle is a holding place where our thoughts, feelings and inner wisdom can be brought forth. Circles can be a space to be nourished and inspired – a holding place where we as individuals and as groups can clarify our focus on what has real meaning and value. Because the center of a circle is related to our own inner center, it reminds us to be present while we listen and while we speak. Sitting in a circle is an opportunity to be present in ourselves and with each other.

The 22nd was a blustery day with lots of rain so a few didn’t make it and others fell ill. Our total for the group was 6, three men and three women, a perfect balance of the Divine Feminine and Masculine energies. The great thing about it, was that 3 members had never been in a circle before so it was a new experience for them. The smaller circle provided an opportunity to repeat each question twice, compelling each of us to dig a little deeper the second round. Going into a deeper space, opens the heart, mind and our being to new possibilities and ideas that emerge.

I came up with a list of topics to get the ball rolling and the evening before the circle my partner and I chose a dozen or so we felt would be appropriate for our first gathering. I printed them up, put them in a bowl and as a group decided to go with whatever question was drawn from the bowl. My hope is that as our circle evolves, the members will contribute questions that we can incorporate into the mix.

We began with each person sharing their name and a little about why they were at the circle. Followed was a short meditation to ground us and open our hearts. Next our first question was selected, “Tell us something you would like less of in your life”, the next question that was pulled from the bowl was, “Tell us something you would like more of in your life”, and the last one to be drawn was “Tell us where you get your inspiration” A poem was read at the end, which I changed a little to better serve our needs…I have enclosed it below.  We completed with each person sharing how they were feeling. I found that with the smaller group we were able to do three topics before we ate, in larger circles we would do one topic or question, break for goodies then return to the circle.

For me, the social aspect afterward was fantastic. I felt that once I really listened and understood another members deepest feelings on a topic, I really was drawn to learn more about them.

There are some simple guidelines that we have:

  • Consider it a sacred space
  • One person speaks at a time; whomever has the rock
  • Speak and listen from the heart
  • Encourage and welcome diverse points of view
  • Listen with discernment instead of judgment
  • Offer experience instead of advice
  • You do not have to share
  • When in doubt or need, pause and silently ask for guidance
  • Everything in the circle is to be held in confidence
  • Speak from your own experience and beliefs rather than speaking for others
  • Open and close the circle by hearing each voice (Check-ins and check-outs)

We have decided that all the donations collected each month will be saved. twice a year we will decide, as a group what type of charitable action we would like to make with the funds. I’m am so excited about our group going out together one day and spreading good will, love and ourselves to community! I am happy to report that our first gathering yielded $60.00 of Love.

If you want to join our circle this is what you need to bring:

  • Your beautiful spirit
  • Openness to be present
  • A light snack to share
  • A love donation (to go to charity)

Join us at Soul Alchemy Healing to share with a unique group of individuals, to speak, be heard, heal, create, laugh, cry, bear witness — and be cradled in compassion. Our shared topics allow new insights and perspectives to penetrate you life. No experience necessary. Join our community and empower yourself by truly being heard!

Imagine a Person (previously Imagine a Woman)

  by Patricia Lynn Reilly

Imagine a person who honors their experience and tells their stories.

Who refuses to carry the sins of others within their body and life.

Imagine a person who believes they are good.  A person who trusts and

respects themselves.  Who listens to their needs and desires, and then meets

them with tenderness and grace.

Imagine a person who has acknowledged the past’s influence on the

present.  A person who has walked through their past.  Who has healed into

the present.

Imagine a person who authors their life.  A person who exerts,

initiates, and moves on their own behalf.  Who refuses to surrender except

to their truest self and their wisest voice.

Imagine a person who names their own gods.  A person who imagines the divine

in their image and their likeness. Who designs their own spirituality and

allows it to inform their daily life.

Imagine a person in love with their own body.  A person who believes their body

is enough, just as it is.  Who celebrates their body and its rhythms

as an exquisite resource.

Imagine a person who honors the face of the god/goddess in their changing

face.  A person who celebrates the accumulation of their years and their

wisdom.  Who refuses to use precious energy disguising the changes in their

body and their life.

Imagine a person who values the people in their life.  A person who sits in

circles of other people.  Who is reminded of the truth about themselves

when they forget.

Imagine yourself as this person.

It’s 2012…The time is NOW!

This time in which we have all chosen to live on Mother Earth is unprecedented for the human race. We have never experienced the type of evolution that is occurring now. Each of us lives in our own unique universe in which we have personally co-created.

At this time, we have easier access to the utilization, aid and help of the beings of Light, Masters and Angels to effect change and transformation not only within our physical form but in our multidimensional universe as well.

In moments of contemplative meditation, it is often difficult for us to accept the unconditional loving Light of Infinite Source that we all carry within because of our life history in this and other embodiments. Because of the accessibility of the higher frequencies, we now have the capability of traveling back in time, for on the higher planes there is no linear time/space as we experience on Earth.

Traveling back in time is a viable way for us to heal and accelerate our spiritual journey. Our spirit knows where the heartache lies within us. Beginning in our earliest memories there are painful moments that we have all is some ways resisted to heal. Even if we do not choose to know our past life karmic issues, we may be well assured that in this lifetime all the moments of discomfort we’ve ever experienced will echo this past life history, to be cleared so we may move forward once more.

If we were only to simply choose to look at the most pivotal moments of discomfort in this embodiment, while asking for the healing Light of Infinite Source to fill us, we can create the most profound transformation process in our being. This is similar to a life review.

To do this, simply sit in quiet meditative reflection where you allow your heart, soul, and spirit to revisit that which has caused you discomfort and then allow the Light to fill you and heal you. Drench the events as you choose to contemplate them in the powerful frequencies of healing Light. Violet, golden-white and luminous blue can be most beneficial. Invite the beings of Light to be with you as you visit the events that caused you discomfort and know that the healing you have always sought can be yours now.

During this time of profound energetic shift for our entire Earth plane, such a life review healing is entirely necessary and more easily achievable than ever before. Be patient as you go through this process. You have carried the discomfort for a lifetime — perhaps for more than one lifetime.  Allow the layers to fall away and trust that they will.

This year do all you can to raise your vibration and prepare for a remarkable journey, here are some things you can do:

  • Get a spiritual coach:

Spiritual Coaching is based on the idea of “consciousness” and personal empowerment for a more holistic approach to life. This type of coaching takes spiritual principles and spiritual ideals into the real world, so that they can be applied practically to all aspects of our lives. It produces greater success in our endeavors, and promotes personal evolution on all levels. Fulfilling our desire to grow, be happy, experience peace and master life: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/what-is-spiritual-coaching/

  • Do a Life Review Clearing:

I have been doing these healings for over 18 years now and have been working with the Lords of Light since a traumatic fall in 1990. My work can be accessed via skype or telephone.

These sessions are a blend of AK (an eclectic blend of biofeedback), Chinese acupuncture, emotional stress release, Reiki, NLP, channelling and energy manipulation called muscle testing. It is a powerful natural therapy of benefit to everyone regardless of their spiritual awareness or level of consciousness. Our spirit knows where the heartache lies within us. Beginning in our earliest memories there are painful moments. Carol is able to trace these conditional behaviour patterns back to their source by connecting with your unconscious mind, guides and spirit,  then eliminates them forever with neurological re-patterning. Any area of life from financial success to working with your spiritual guides can be tapped into and all blocks released. She defuses all emotionally charged issues related to the area you are intending to shift through a process of age and life regression techniques then re-programs your spirit and unconscious mind: http://www.soulalchemyhealing.com/sessions.html

Remember that nothing has ever happened to us from the outside. All experiences were co-created. As sovereign beings of Light we ordained the events that occurred in our lives and we have the power to “un-create” what we no longer wish to carry.

Transforming our universe allows us to radiate our Light, and become a healing agent for all of Mother Earth. This does not require that any grandiose steps be taken only a willingness to go within and heal.

Namaste,

Carol

Improve your Health, Feel Better and Be Empowered

Sometimes we face challenges in life that traditional medical methods cannot identify nor heal with what is known or visible.  If there is an imbalance in the body that has not fully manifested into physical dis-ease, it may be challenging to heal without knowing the source of the symptoms.  A Medical Intuitive sees and feels beyond the physical to identify the source of the pain and supports a client in healing often before the symptoms turn into a serious physical dis-ease.

A trained professional in Bio-Energetic Analysis can read the blueprint of your aura and physical body to reveal mental, emotional, physical or spiritual ailments. The process is simple. Just place a Q-tip in your mouth first thing in the morning before brushing, foods or liquids. Leave it there for 20 seconds the place it into a clean plastic zip lock bag and mail it to them.

It seems as though root causes of illness such as parasites, toxins and plain old candida are never really addressed in allopathic medicine these days. I mean when is the last time your doctor asked you if you had mercury amalgam fillings, if you consume MSG or aspartame on a regular basis, or whether or not you have pets and have de-wormed yourself your family lately, or how much soya you consume? These are things that don’t even cross the minds of most physicians. No wonder so many of us are feeling…hmmm…just not quite right and never get the answers we are seeking.

The reading shows all the answers to these questions and more. It shows under or over activities in each of your organs, hormones and bodily functions allowing pathogens (metal poisoning, candida, viruses, msg toxicity, food allergies, anger, thought patterns…) to be detected that are preventing you from your health and fitness goals. These pathogens are often in everyday foods and products that you may be unknowingly consuming. Left untreated pathogens can become the root of many underlying and debilitating diseases such as thyroid imbalances, joint and muscle pain, Arthritis, back pain, stress, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, memory loss, etc.

Included in your reading is your vitamin, mineral, supplement and food needs to ensure your body is balanced for optimal health and to meet your fitness goals.

Herbs, homeopathics and supplements are often recommended to cleanse, repair and rebuild your system. The awesome thing about one of these readings is that it takes the guess work out of health issues. Knowing exactly what is in our system and how to treat it is empowering. No more guessing what cleanse to do, no more endless research and confusion, no more wasted money spent on supplements that don’t work or that you didn’t really need.

To give you a simple example; this is what having lead in our bodies can do:

  • Stomach aches, cramping, constipation, or diarrhea
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Persistent, unexplained fatigue
  • Headache
  • Muscle weakness
  • Irritability
  • Unexplained changes in mood or personality
  • Changes in sleep patterns
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Memory loss

Behavioural symptoms in children

  • Irritability or aggressiveness
  • Hyperactivity, being easily distracted, impulsiveness
  • Learning problems
  • Lack of interest in play
  • Loss of appetite

Children with chronic low blood lead levels who may not have obvious symptoms of lead poisoning may have learning problems and be smaller in size than children their age who do not have low to moderate levels of lead poisoning. Studies have shown that declines in IQ can even be seen in children with blood lead concentrations. And you thought you needed to medicate your child because of A.D.D., nope just give them some plumbum metalicum and get the lead out!

Where does lead come from you ask? Here are some of the culprits:

  • cigarettes and second hand smoke
  • paints, especially in older homes
  • tin cans
  • pollution
  • vehicle exhaust
  • some toys made in China
  • some window blinds

Unfortunately so many warning signs of many toxins or metals mimic other health related issues, it’s challenging to know what a client really has, that is according to our current allopathic methods anyway. This is only one example of why often traditional methods can’t detect core health issues.

In closing, remember what is written in Mathew 7.7: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Perhaps 2012 is the year for those of you with health concerns to begin the journey of seeking to find the answers.

2011 and Beyond

Am I hallucinating, dreaming, walking in a time warp or is 2011 almost over?

As I reflect back on this year, I am in awe at how much has shifted, not only out in the world but most importantly inside of me. I have always accepted that life is a school, and that every experience is an opportunity to move forward on our evolutionary path. I really chose to stretch myself this year and in doing so I attained my BA in Metaphysical Science and also became an Ordained Minister, this developed a relationship with the Divine that I had not known before. As you might imagine, with this initiation into a new vibration came plenty of opportunity to use my new-found skills.

I took some really tough knocks this year and am on the verge of tears as I begin to recall the hardest one. It was losing my a dear friend Christine on July 31st, and with that loss came my lost relationship with her family; Julie, Graham and Christine’s husband John. I blogged about it: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/08/01/christine-wilkinson-soul-sister-and-extraordinary-friend/  I still send them all love and healing, God I wish things could be different. I was so angry and resentful I almost went mad. I don’t remember throwing a temper tantrum like that since I was 4 years old. The Buddha has a great teaching for this; “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” It certainly was the case for me!

I believe this truth “everything in the physical universe is temporary”, I honour it…of course living it can be a whole other experience. This year, I have increased my faith in the wisdom and justice of the universe. I learned forgiveness and time slowly healed the wounds of my heart, and I dared to laugh again. With loss came many new surprises and gifts, this is what I love about the Universe and surrender.

In 2011 I saw and spoke with my father for the first time in nearly 40 years. It’s still fresh and scary and weird but it’s all great! With that connections comes all the gifts of my aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. It is still in the beginning stages and I can see the potential for growth, sharing of wisdom and love; all great things. I remain open to the possibilities of connecting and sharing on an even deeper level with time.

I was fortunate to re-connect with a long time friend and soul sister, Jackie on my 50th B-day (yep, I turned 50 this year too: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/yikes-me-turning-50-years-old-is-this-right/) We were inseparable for many years. Our lives ventured in different directions and a pleasant turn of events has found us embracing our relationship again, with many new twists and turns. The nice thing about coming together again after so many years is that we both have so much to share and learn from one another.

Amazingly, a childhood buddy and cousin who I just adored also found her way back into my life. We are thinking it’s been about 32-35 years. OMG, she is spiritual, funny and a lovely woman. Interesting how I still remember her as my childhood friend. This connection has made my heart sing again and I am so very grateful.

I was forced to leave a contract position at (SEEDS) Self-Employment and Entrepreneur Development Society where I loved to facilitate and help new entrepreneurs. I was so passionate about my position there, I loved it and thought it was a great fit. It was a stressful time of injustice, betrayal and heartbreak as well. Again I had an opportunity to watch myself in action and live up to my new role as Minister. This time instead of being pissed off, angry and livid, I was able to send love and grace. It really didn’t make things easier, as far as I could tell anyhow. If Christine was here she would have said, “It might have been way worst if you didn’t do it that way, you did good my friend” Could be, all I know is that I am pleased with my evolution, I’m not stuck in a place of guilt and grief and I have let it go. I could only let it go by following the advice I would have given to a client, “if the doors keep closing, get the message, the universe has other plans for you, let it go!” Believe it or not I always seem to find solace in walking my talk. It also makes it easier to look at myself in the mirror each day.

It was at this time that I discovered a new passion and the best stress reliever I could have ever imagined…painting, from the girl who never thought I could draw to having my art exposed on an art blog…shut up! You gotta check out this blog: http://pointsthruprose.com/ Thank you Jackie!!! Sometimes I just have to give my head a shake and ask what the %$$#@*&, I am still in awe. I have found a new level of peace that I didn’t even know existed, and all I need to do is take out some paper and water colours, go figure!  Here is the blog: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/11/02/when-all-hell-breaks-loose-paint/

I was gifted a workshop called “Living From Truth” this year. I blogged about it: http://carollefevre.wordpress.com/2011/11/08/authenticity-improved-communication-and-a-deeper-more-fulfilling-life/

Doing the workshop and being a participant instead of a teacher was such a treat.  I gifted 3 clients with the experience as well. It was a great opportunity for me to get to know Ann better and the good news is that we are in the stages of a fantastic budding new friendship. (Ann was my support system when Christine passed, helping me perform last rites at the hospital and being a sounding board for me.) Connecting with my “Living From Truth”  group and doing the practices has improved my communications and an all ready amazing relationship with my husband. Who knew things could get better?

Last month with the encouragement of my friend Jackie I started a new business call New Perspectives Ministry: http://www.newperspectivesministry.ca/Homepage

I have only just got my marketing materials so next week I will end the year with the beginnings of something new.

To summarize things; the highs in 2011 have been high and the lows have been devastating. I’m not really a whiner, and when I think about the state of our world and the millions whose lives are filled with far worst devastation than mine, I can really only be grateful. Yes it was heartbreaking, yes it was a lot of hard work, but not so much that life stood still. Each day through my tears, anger, love or joy I continued to give thanks for all the blessings in my life and for my connection with God.

The changes I notice most from the effect of this year is my willingness to be in community, the deep-seated peace in my being, my phenomenal connection to the Divine and my level of gratitude for the reunions and new possibilities in 2012.

I leave you with a quote from Einstein:

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

In gratitude,

Carol

What is Spiritual Coaching?

Who is a Spiritual Coach?

A spiritual coach is similar to a life coach only for those on a spiritual path or those who would like to become more self-aware. Instead of focusing on external factors of your life, a spiritual coach focuses on the inner workings of your mind, body, and soul. Spiritual coaches assists you in the process of self-discovery and spirituality which in turn can be used to overcome some of life’s greatest challenges. This type of coaching can assist you to break free of  lifetime’s worth of limitations, suffering, pain and help you find real joy and true peace.

Research shows that things such as positive beliefs, comfort and strength gained from religion, meditation and prayer can contribute to healing and a sense of well-being. Improving our spiritual health may not cure an illness, but it may help us feel better, prevent some health problems and help us cope better with illness or death.

Religious and spiritual beliefs are an important part of how many people deal with life’s joys, prosperity and hardships. Faith can provide people with a sense of purpose and clearer guidelines for living and insights into the self.

This type of coaching leads client’s to deep personal transformation. Coaches help their clients improve certain areas of their life, such as determining their spiritual path, how to proceed on their spiritual journey, and how to shrug off the negative events that seem to occur daily.  Spiritual coaches often facilitate a process that teaches you to how to live from a higher level of conscious awareness, how to deal with your feelings, needs, desires, dreams and goals and then manifest them.

The Concept

The concept that we create our own reality is more widespread than ever before. In our parent’s generation and before, this concept was known only to a few. Those few were mainly mystics and shamans. Now discoveries and experiments in quantum physics prove the truth of this concept. Mystics, shamans and some quantum physicists know that we create our reality by our thoughts, beliefs and perceptions.

We are actually more powerful than we can even imagine. For most of us, though, our experience tells us something entirely different. We feel that we are at the mercy of an outward reality, the victims of circumstances beyond our control. We work harder and harder, thinking that if only we have more money, more time, the right pill, the right family, more love, or a better job that we will finally be whole and happy. We try to change and control the circumstances and people around us in order to feel empowered.

As a Minister and Metaphysical Practitioner, Carol understands about trying to change and control things outside of ourselves such as power. When the energy of the soul is recognized, acknowledged, and valued, it begins to infuse the life of the personality. When the personality comes fully to serve the energy of its soul it is authentic empowerment. This is the goal of the evolutionary process in which we are involved and the reason for our being.

Carol chose the name Soul Alchemy Healing because it describes how this process from external power to authentic power happens. The true transmutation that comes from aligning the personality with the energy of our soul can only be done by a journey from unconsciousness to consciousness. This process of miraculous change happens by taking a journey inside.

Awareness

The spiritual tools, techniques, exercises and disciplines taught through the spiritual coaching techniques at Soul Alchemy Healing are pathways to our inner world. This journey within enables students and clients to become aware of how they see and experience their lives, getting them in touch with their underlying and unconscious beliefs, perceptions and thoughts. Without this awareness we are at the mercy of a reality created by our unconscious beliefs.

Awareness is only the first step in the alchemical process. The Talmud says, “We don’t see things as they are, but as we are.” If we believe ourselves, and therefore our souls, to be unlovable, unworthy, and powerless, then we will experience ourselves to be these things. The Truth is that each soul is a unique expression of the Divine, a spark from the flame that is the Creator. Awareness shows us what our beliefs are and how those beliefs have actually created our reality. By becoming aware, we can then change our beliefs.

Changes

Changing what we say we believe is not enough because supporting our old beliefs are habitual thought, perceptual and energetic patterns. These habitual patterns have to be changed also in order for lasting transformation to occur. Working with these habitual patterns requires us to develop and maintain a spiritual practice. The tools, techniques and exercises taught through Soul Alchemy can be used by clients and students to develop their own unique spiritual practice, which can bring every aspect of their lives into alignment with their divine essence. This is authentic empowerment.
